“The Weeping Tree” is a poignant portrait of the cross that uses beloved hymns, newly composed music, thoughtful narration and simple sacred symbols to create a touching testament of grace for our churches. Father Tony and Pastor Marlene will narrate our cantata. This thought provoking musical presentation will feature the combined musicians of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and Memorial Park Baptist Church.
Through this journey, symbols of the Crucifixion will transport our souls from the joyous entrance into Jerusalem through the Last Supper, Good Friday and on to the Resurrection. We hope you will invite your family, friends and neighbors to share this musical message. Our choirs will present this 25-minute cantata at both St. Andrew’s service at 9AM and at Memorial Park’s service at 11:00AM on Palm Sunday. March 16,2008.
“The Weeping Tree” stands outside the city wall and lifts her weary arms against the darkened sky. The tree is a gathering place for the sorrowful and a sanctuary for the grieving. Under the comfort of the tree there is comfort and a shelter from the storm - Joseph M. Martin - Musical Arranger
